The library is located at the end of Hangar 2 next to the Prop Shop. It is home to over 3500 hard bound books, some dating back to the WW I era, and over 125 magazine titles dating back to the 1920s. Books are shelved in general categories such as WW I, the Golden years of the 1920s and 1930s, WW II, Korea and Vietnam, and present day. There are also biographies, and pilot flight manuals for civil, commercial and military aircraft. We also have a collection of DVDs and VHS tapes.
The library also includes engine and airframe maintenance manuals, flight instructions, and technical aircraft/engine data stored in our archives. Much of this data is accessible via computer and be retrieved as requested.
Members may check out books, dvds and VHS tapes for up to 4 weeks. Magazines must be viewed or photocopied on site. The library is open during the regular museum hours.
Though still a work in progress, many of our titles are catalogued and can be searched online here.
