Continental R-670-5 Radial Engine

 

The Continental R-670 series of engines are one of the most widely used light radial aircraft engines in the world. Originally designed in the 1930s, the 7 cylinder 4-cycle radial aircraft engine was used on a number of aircraft including the Cessna 190 and numerous Waco’s including the UPF-7. During WWII they were mass produced for the Stearman PT-17 and the Fairchild PT-23 training aircraft. Build date for this specific engine was in 1941.
